The second month of the year shall now be known as “FLU-bruary”.
You heard it here first!
I made a promise to myself that I would post something to my blog once a month for a year. Here’s my post for this month. It isn’t much, but I’ll take what I can get.
Here’s a list of noteworthy things that have happened over the last 28 days or so.
- I tested positive for the flu on the 7th. The initial illness is over, but I've been left with a cough and an unrelenting fatigue that I can't seem to shake. It kind of reminds me of the first time I got COVID. I keep telling myself that I'm getting better, but sometimes I think that's wishful thinking. I'm so annoyed!
- Megan and I spent a weekend in a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in Okemos, Michigan. The Goetsch-Winckler House (https://www.experienceusonia.com/) was originally owned by two women artists who taught at MSU. The home is available for rent on Air B&B. The two of us toured the home a while ago when it was part of a Frank Lloyd Wright lecture at MSU. We decided to rent the home for a weekend as a Christmas gift to each other. It was an awesome experience!!

- I made some art! While the flu has had me feeling like I’m running on empty for almost the entire month, I’ve kept up with my practice of making art every day (Some of these days, I could manage nothing more than scribbling in my sketchbook, but that counts).

Ugh…. I think it’s time for bed.
Stay healthy, everyone!
